Stephen Curry: Warriors are better this year than last year
The Golden State Warriors won 67 games last season and went on to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers for their first NBA title since 1975.
Stephen Curry believes they are capable of more.
The Warriors have won their first five games, and people are already talking about them challenging the NBA record of 72 wins in a single season. After Golden State won a tough game against the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday night, Curry said he feels the 2015-2016 Warriors are better than last year’s championship squad.
He may be right. It’s way too early to start talking about a 72-win season or back-to-back NBA titles, but the Warriors have kept their core intact and are a relatively young team. Curry is still only 27. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are both 25. This is a team that is incredibly comfortable playing together, so there’s no reason why it can’t improve.
Oh yeah, and we know it’s early, but there’s also this:
Steph Curry is on pace for 459 3s this season. The current record is 286, which he set last season.
