Forgive Stephen Jackson if he’s a little biased on the matter, but the former small forward believes his 2007 Warriors would have beaten today’s Warriors.
Jackson was appearing on ESPN Thursday when he made the declaration.
“My Warriors team would be today’s Warriors team! I guarantee that,” said Jackson.

Jackson was traded to the Warriors in 2007 and played two and a half seasons with the team. The 2006-2007 team went 42-40 and reached the playoffs as the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Then they pulled off a huge upset by knocking out the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round in six games.
“We beat the one-seed. We beat the one-seed,” Jackson repeated. He did give the current Warriors respect, saying “they’re great. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great.”
Look, Dubs fans loved that ’07 team. It was the first Warriors squad to reach the playoffs since ’94, and it took another six seasons before Golden State made it back again. But who in their right mind would say a team that went 42-40 would beat a team that is 51-5 and on its way to becoming the best team in NBA history?
I love you Stephen, but that’s just crazy talk. Jackson has always been someone passionate who speaks his mind as this shows, but nobody ever said logic or objectivity were his middle names.
