The Golden State Warriors were the toast of the sports world last week after winning the NBA championship. They received congratulations and praise from many comers, but there was one that stood out.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says getting a congratulatory text message from Tiger Woods was a highlight.
“I don’t want to be a name-dropper but I guess the one that kind of (surprised me) was Tiger Woods. That was pretty cool,” Kerr told “The Damon Bruce Show” on 95.7 The Game Thursday.
Kerr also shared that the two became friends due to their experiences dealing with back surgery. Kerr had an extremely rough experience and missed time coaching due to his pain and recovery. Tiger similarly missed significant time after back surgeries and had issues with pain medications.
But instead of commiserating over their experiences with back injuries, their latest was a much more positive conversation.
