Terry Stotts has funny response for reporter questioning team’s defense
Terry Stotts had a funny response to a reporter questioning his defensive strategy employed against the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday night.
Stotts’ Portland Trail Blazers used a drop coverage with their bigs on pick and rolls, which allowed Stephen Curry to beat them with some wide open 3-pointers. Curry had 36 as Golden State won by 22.
Stotts was asked by The Athletic’s Anthony V. Slater after the game about his defensive strategy and had a good response.

He has a point — Curry is so good he can beat any defensive coverage. Still, I think the odds are in favor of actually trying to put a defender in Steph’s face rather than allow him an open look.
