Tom Thibodeau likes Timberwolves’ chances with Jimmy Butler returning

The Minnesota Timberwolves are fighting tooth and nail for a playoff spot, but coach Tom Thibodeau is happy with his things are going.

Though the Timberwolves are just a half game ahead of the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot, Thibodeau thinks the team is in a good spot, particularly with guard Jimmy Butler set to return to the lineup from a meniscus injury.

“From four to 10, you win one game and you feel like you got a shot at being in a good spot,” Thibodeau said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “And you lose a game and you feel like you could be out. I don’t want our guys to get lost. Just understand play as hard as you can on every play.

“This is a great experience for our guys. I like the position we are in. We are going home and we got to be ready when we go home.”

The Timberwolves are trying to make the playoffs for the first time in 14 years. They’ve suffered some very bad losses during the last few weeks, but they still have a good chance of making it into the playoffs.
