Ball security was a major issue for the Los Angeles Clippers in their 103-87 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.
The problem even surfaced just seconds into the contest, with the Clippers committing a bizarre blunder.
Clippers forward Isaiah Jackson won the jump ball against Lakers center Walker Kessler, but Darius Garland failed to go after the leather before it went out of bounds. Apparently, the Clippers guard didn’t have his full attention on the ball as he tried to fix his locks.
Here is a video of that moment.
The Clippers are so unserious They got a turnover ONE SECOND into the game because Darius Garland was tying his hair 😭 https://t.co/rAnivrLhRO

That was just the beginning of a long night for the Clippers, who repeatedly shot themselves in the foot with sloppy ball-handling throughout the game. Garland and company committed 24 turnovers, and the Lakers turned those miscues into 31 points.
The Clippers missed a great opportunity to beat the Lakers, who were without their best player. Luka Doncic sat out with back tightness, but his team didn’t have much trouble taking care of business.
Quentin Grimes paced the Lakers with 23 points, while Collin Sexton contributed 21 points off the bench.
The Clippers got 21 points from rookie Keaton Wagler and 14 points from Garland.
The Clippers opened their season with a 121-96 win over the Sacramento Kings but have since lost three straight games to fall to 1-3.
