Wizards’ owner predicts John Wall will sign designated player extension

Will the Washington Wizards be able to lock down John Wall long-term? The team’s owner certainly thinks so.

Ted Leonsis said Wednesday that his prediction was that Wall would ultimately sign the designated player extension he has been offered, and he hopes there will be “no drama” in the negotiation.

Wall has over $40 million a year on the table from Washington, but he’s waiting to sign. He wants to play for a contender, and is keen to receive assurances that Washington will be trying to put a winning team around him for the duration of his deal.
