Boxing Hall of Fame analyst Al Bernstein revealed that he had a personal health scare that he has overcome.

Bernstein said on Twitter Wednesday that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer recently. He underwent treatment and says that the cancer has mostly been eradicated.

I did not say anything publicly, but I was diagnosed with prostate Cancer some months ago. I did radiation therapy and today found out my PSA, once up to 12, is now 0.1. So the Cancer has basically been eradicated. Happy day in our household. Early detection the key for all.

Bernstein is a boxing author and historian who has appeared as an analyst for Showtime since 2003. Prior to that he served as an analyst for ESPN. He has also written for boxing publications “The Ring” and “Boxing Illustrated.”
