Mike Tyson rips Floyd Mayweather: ‘He’s a very small, scared man’

Like most others, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is anticipating an exciting fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. While Iron Mike seems unwilling to commit to a prediction for the bout, it is obvious he is rooting for Pacquiao.

During an interview with Undisputed Champion Network on Wednesday, Tyson was asked for his thoughts on Mayweather recently putting himself ahead of Muhammad Ali as a fighter. The comments clearly irritated Tyson.

“(Mayweather is) very delusional,” he said. “Listen, if he was anywhere near the realm of Ali, he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself. He can’t take his kids to school by himself, and he’s talking about he’s great?

“Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people. Greatness is being accepted by the people. He can’t take his kids alone to school by himself. He’s a little scared man. He’s a very small, scared man.”

That look Tyson gave at the end was reminiscent of the one he shot during an interview last year when the reporter reminded him that he is a convicted rapist.

Mike-Tyson

Tyson also referred to Mayweather as “dirt” in a recent interview with USA Today Sports.

As for the fight itself, Tyson has gone on record saying he believes Pacquiao will win, though he doesn’t sound certain.

“At first I took Pacquiao … this is gonna be interesting,” he said. “I know it’s gonna be a good fight regardless of who wins. Both guys are gonna be up for this fight and I think it’s gonna be a knockout. I don’t think it will go the distance.”

Tyson has mellowed out a bit in recent years and even drops a good joke on everyone now and then. But his reaction to that question about Mayweather told you everything you need to know about his thoughts on Floyd.
