Jermell Charlo’s motto is “Lions Only,” but he took that to a whole new level for his fight against Austin Trout on Saturday.
Charlo entered the ring for the WBC light middleweight title bout (on the undercard of the Abner Mares-Leo Santa Cruz rematch) wearing a full-on lion costume, complete with the head and everything.

The outfit wound up working pretty well for Charlo — the 28-year-old fighter retained his title belt with a majority decision victory over Trout to improve to a perfect 31-0 for his career. At least we can say that his lion costume was a lot better than another fashion statement we recently saw in the sport.
