A.J. Allmendinger’s wife Tara had a great response to the joke the NASCAR driver made on Saturday.
A.J.’s No. 16 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing crashed out of the Xfinity Series race Saturday at Iowa Speedway after blowing a tire and hitting the wall on his 33rd lap.

Allmendinger was taken to the infield care center and then released following the crash. Despite his crash, he maintained a good sense of humor.
Allmendinger said in an interview that the crash knocked the wind out of him. He added that his crotch belt tugged pretty hard.
“So I’ll have Tara look at that later, make sure it’s OK,” Allmendinger joked.

Tara got the message and indicated she had the situation under control.
“I got you babe,” Tara wrote on X in response.

That’s the kind of support a driver needs from their spouse.
Allmendinger finished 37th in the race, but he remains first in his wife’s heart.
