Brad Underwood to be next Oklahoma State coach
Brad Underwood will be leaving Stephen F. Austin to take the head coaching job at Oklahoma State.
CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish reported the news on Twitter about the coaching move.
Underwood led the Lumberjacks to three straight Southland Conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. His team defeated West Virginia in the first round of the tourney this year before leaving. They also reached the second round in his first season on the job in 2014.
Prior to Stephen F. Austin, Underwood served as an assistant at South Carolina. His longest stint was as an assistant at Kansas State from 2006-2012.
Previous Cowboys head coach Travis Ford was fired on Friday following a 12-20 season. We had passed along a report on Sunday saying there was chatter Underwood would become the school’s new head coach.
