A date has finally been set for Bronny James’s long-awaited debut in a USC Trojans uniform. James is expected to suit up for USC’s matchup Sunday against Long Beach State at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

According to the OC Register’s Luca Evans, USC coach Andy Enfield stated Thursday that “all indications” point to James being available to play in the Trojans’ next contest. James will be placed on a minutes restriction if he does take the court.

There were already some rumblings last week about the Long Beach game being the target return date for Bronny. Enfield’s comments basically confirmed the prior speculation.

James was cleared for a full return to basketball last week. The 19-year-old freshman suffered a cardiac arrest in July. The cause of the medical emergency was revealed a month later.

Bronny’s father LeBron James revealed earlier this week that he would sit out a Los Angeles Lakers game if it overlapped with his son’s USC debut. The 4-time NBA MVP will be able to attend without issue given that his team is not scheduled to play on Sunday.

Bronny James was rated by 247 Sports as a 4-star recruit before committing to USC in May. The 6’4″ combo guard is highly regarded for his outside shooting and potential as an on-ball defender.
