Chris Jones charged with rape, sodomy
The off-court issues continue to pile up for Chris Jones, as the former Louisville guard has been charged with raping one woman and sodomizing another.
Andrew Wolfson of The Courier-Journal reports that a warrant has been obtained by University of Louisville Police and that Jones was expected to surrender in court on Thursday morning.
One of the alleged victims was reportedly hospitalized on Sunday and identified Jones as her assailant. One of the women is 19 and the other is 20, according to police.
Both of the alleged sexual assaults occurred on Saturday night after Louisville defeated Miami at home. Cardinals coach Rick Pitino announced that Jones had been kicked off the team on Sunday without explanation.
A number of off-court incidents involving Jones have come to light over the past week, and all appear to be separate occurrences. Roughly two weeks ago, Jones was reportedly involved in a fight. He was later accused of threatening to smack a woman via text message, resulting in a one-game suspension from the team.
The Courier-Journal noted that the woman Jones allegedly threatened is not one of the two women who claimed they were sexually assaulted by him.
