South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley was so furious after forward Joyce Edwards was called for a foul during the national championship game between her team and UConn at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday.
UConn guard Paige Bueckers had the ball and pulled up for a shot near the elbow with her Huskies leading 23-18 with 7:17 left in the second quarter. Edwards went to contest Bueckers’ shot and was called for a foul that left Staley ticked off.

UConn entered the game looking to win its first championship since 2016. Staley entered the game looking to repeat as champions with South Carolina.
