Florida State inexplicably declines to foul late in game
Florida State made a nice run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, but it seemed that they called an end to their tournament earlier than necessary.
The Seminoles were trailing 58-54 and missed a three-point attempt with a dozen or so seconds remaining in the game. Michigan grabbed the rebound. Instead of opting to foul their opponents and see what kind of craziness might unfold, the Seminoles just let the Wolverines dribble out the clock for the win.
CBS’ analysts and folks on Twitter all didn’t understand why FSU just gave up.
11 seconds left, 4-point game and you don’t even foul??? pic.twitter.com/E0MJW45bm6

at what point do we begin to question whether or not someone on the sideline knows the spread

Lol at Hamilton’s “Eh, that’s enough. Let’s go home” strategy there.

There were like eight seconds left and Leonard was like you know what nope let’s just go home

I’m sure Leonard Hamilton has forgotten more about hoops than most of us combined will ever know, but you can’t prove it by those last 40 seconds. That was dreadful at both ends.

The questions make plenty of sense. This is the last game of your season – why not play to the final buzzer?
