Jairus Lyles hilariously brushes aside question about DMs

UMBC star Jairus Lyles’s DMs are not open for business.

As the leading name on college basketball’s newest Cinderella, Lyles was subjected to a throng of media asking all sorts of questions on Saturday. Perhaps the most unusual was someone asking him if anyone had tried to slide into his DMs on Twitter.

Someone truly just asked UMBC’s Jairus Lyles if anyone has been sliding into his DMs since last night.

“Nah, I got a girl,” Lyles said, “so we don’t do that over here.”

A calm, collected answer if there ever was one.

Until they’re out of the tournament, UMBC players can expect to remain the center of attention. Lyles seems to be ready for it, although he still may not have the best Twitter game of anyone associated with the university.
