Jamie Dixon ‘shocked’ TCU was left out of tournament
TCU was among the most notable snubs from this year’s NCAA Tournament, which has left Horned Frogs head coach Jamie Dixon “shocked.”
Dixon said on Sunday that being snubbed from the Big Dance was disappointing and that they were left shocked and surprised by the outcome.
“We’re the team that’s probably the most surprised in the country…It’s disappointing…Shocked, but things don’t always go the way that people project or plan.” Coach Jamie Dixon #SelectionSunday @TCUBasketball pic.twitter.com/Vcgikx4GoO

TCU went 20-13 and counted two wins over Big 12 Tournament champ Iowa State as their best victories. They were hurt by having a weak non-conference schedule and their 7-11 conference record.
On CBS’ Selection Show, TCU was mentioned along with Indiana, Alabama and UNC Greensboro as being four teams that were close to making it. TCU can be disappointed, but they really didn’t deserve a spot in the tournament. They are the No. 48 team in KenPom’s rankings. Compare that to Clemson (No. 29), Texas (No. 30), and NC State (No. 33) who were all much higher rated by KenPom and did not make the tournament.
