
Vermont guard Kurt Steidl left his team’s first-round game against Purdue on Thursday after suffering a leg injury late in the first half.
Steidel raced out to try defending a 3-point attempt by Purdue with two minutes left in the first half and landed awkwardly.

Steidl was down on the floor and examined by a trainer. He was able to walk off the court and into the tunnel.
Steidl’s Catamounts were trailing just 33-32 at the time of his injury. The senior guard was averaging 8 points, 4.4 rebounds and shooting 39.3 percent on threes for the season.
