The health of Michael Porter Jr. was one of the biggest questions entering the NCAA Tournament. Now we have an answer about his status.
Porter told the media on Thursday that he is at about 70 percent entering Friday’s game against Florida State. Porter injured his back in Missouri’s first game of the season and underwent surgery. He returned for the Tigers’ loss to Georgia in the SEC Tournament.
Porter told reporters that he was at about 65 percent for the game against Georgia. He says he’s improved by about five percent since then. The freshman shot just 5-for-17 (29.4 percent) with 12 points and eight rebounds in the 62-60 loss to Georgia.
Porter entered college as 247 Sports’ No. 2 player in the 2017 class. He was the Gatorade National Player of the Year last year.
