The tallest player in the history of college basketball will be available in the transfer portal this spring.
Florida center Olivier Rioux announced Tuesday that he is entering the portal. The 7-foot-9 center thanked Florida in his statement, but said he made the decision to transfer “after taking time to reflect on my journey and what’s best for my future.”
Rioux provided many viral moments for the Gators in each of the last two seasons. He took a redshirt season in 2024-25, but garnered attention for managing to cut down the net without a ladder after the Gators won the national title. He was used sparingly this past season, though he did score seven points in 11 games.
Two of those points came in Florida’s first-round win in the NCAA Tournament, which caused the Gator bench to go nuts.

Rioux will likely be in the hunt for more playing time in order to show what he can do. The former three-star recruit can certainly impact a game when he is in it and would probably be a terror at a smaller school.
