Patrick Mahomes gives love to Texas Tech after loss
Patrick Mahomes remained supportive of his alma mater even in defeat.
Mahomes, who played quarterback at Texas Tech from 2014-2016, attended both of the Red Raiders’ Final Four games in Minneapolis. He was cheering on his team from the stands all the way to the end.
After Texas Tech’s bid for a championship came up short in overtime, Mahomes sent the following tweet of support for his team:
I’m so proud of these guys. I don’t care what anyone says they fought to the end and represented #TexasTech love y’all boys! @TexasTechMBB

As tough as it is to lose in a championship game, receiving support like that from Mahomes has to be somewhat comforting. The Red Raiders should be nothing but proud of their season. Reaching the championship after losing so many players from last season’s team is an incredible accomplishment.
