Seton Hall loses chance at comeback on controversial flagrant call (Video)

A controversial flagrant-1 call late in Arkansas’s win over Seton Hall killed any chance of a late Pirates comeback.

With Seton Hall on defense with a one point deficit and 24.5 seconds left, it was obvious that they were going to foul to force the Razorbacks to the line. Seton Hall’s Desi Rodriguez went in for the inevitable foul on Arkansas’s Jaylen Barford, but his light shove was, on review, called a flagrant foul, which effectively took the Pirates out of the game.

CBS Sports’s Seth Davis defended the call after the game, saying Rodriguez put two hands on Barford and there was no play on the ball. It wasn’t much of a shove, to be sure, and Barford certainly seemed to embellish the impact of it. Either way, it was a really tough way for the Pirates to lose the game, as Arkansas was able to ice it from there.
