Arkansas gets crushed on Twitter after disastrous half against Western Kentucky

Chad Morris

It’s always something of a crisis when an SEC team loses at home to a lesser program, but that does not adequately describe what happened to the Arkansas Razorbacks in the first half of Saturday’s game.

Arkansas found itself trailing 35-7 to Western Kentucky at halftime of a home game Saturday. The Hilltoppers had 16 first downs to Arkansas’ three, and outgained the Razorbacks 317-119. This is a Western Kentucky team that came in with a modest 5-4 record, and had lost its season opener at home to an FCS team, Central Arkansas. Just to rub things in further, Western Kentucky quarterback Tyler Storey is a former Arkansas player.

Twitter did not go easy on the hapless Razorbacks.

Then there was the second genre of tweet, suggesting Arkansas coach Chad Morris was probably coaching his last game at the school.

The Razorbacks are on their way to a 2-8 record, and this is far from their first embarrassment of the season. Morris is almost certainly losing his job at the end of the season, if not sooner, especially with the team playing the way it is.
