Auburn-LSU ending a crazy one after touchdown is reversed
Auburn was awarded an 18-13 victory over LSU on Saturday after a touchdown on the final play of the game was overturned, giving Auburn the win.
Auburn kicked a field goal with 2:56 left to go up 18-13 on LSU and then kicked off to give their opponents the ball. LSU then managed a 13-play drive and had a 3rd-and-16 at the Auburn 20 when things got wild.
LSU QB Danny Etling completed a 10-yard pass to Malachi Dupre to take the ball down to the 10 with six seconds left. Then on fourth down, Etling completed a pass down to the two with one second left. However, there was an illegal formation penalty called, moving them back five yards to the 15 with one second left.
When LSU lined up for a 4th-and-11 with one second left, the clock started before they got the snap off. Things were confusing because they threw a touchdown pass on the play.
Definitely didn't get it off, and definitely threw it past the line of scrimmage pic.twitter.com/c1i1hFGBCh
