Bobby Petrino believes Louisville will beat Alabama
Louisville coach Bobby Petrino is raising expectations ahead of his team’s season-opening tilt against Alabama.
At a Louisville luncheon ahead of the Sept. 1 game against the Crimson Tide, Petrino promised that the Cardinals were going to take out Alabama in the season opener if everyone believes the same way he believes.
When you look at Bobby Petrino's full quote, and consider the context from Media Day when he said he wants his team to believe it can beat Alabama, it feels pretty irresponsible the way his comments have been portrayed on Twitter (shocking, I know). pic.twitter.com/A9Y5DwLQBU

It’s quite the lofty proclamation given what the Crimson Tide are expected to be. Petrino may just be trying to rile up his fanbase and get everyone thinking positively, which is what a head coach should be doing. But while stranger things have happened, it’s safe to say Alabama will be favored in this one. They’re unlikely to be impacted by outside forces, either.
