Former college football quarterback Phil Jurkovec was arrested on Friday and charged with two felonies after he allegedly stole a truck.
KDKA in Pittsburgh reports that Jurkovec allegedly stole a box truck from the valet garage at Allegheny Health Network’s Wexford Hospital. Police were called to the valet garage and were told by the victim that the box truck was stolen while he was loading tables and chairs into the truck. The truck was tracked using GPS, and police were able to stop the truck and identified Jurkovec as the driver, according to court documents.
Jurkovec, who played college football from 2018-2023, was taken into custody. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking, as well as receiving stolen property. Both charges are felonies.
Online records indicate Jurkovec was unable to post the $25,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 30.
What a bizarre fall from grace.

I’m told it is a situation involving an Allegheny Health Network vehicle.

Jurkovec began his career at Notre Dame and played there for two seasons before heading to Boston College. He spent three seasons at BC (2020-2022) before eventually transferring to Pitt for the 2023 season, which was his last. In three seasons at BC, Jurkovec passed for 5,184 yards, 35 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He also rushed for 9 touchdowns with the Eagles.
