Dan Mullen was not a happy camper after his team lost 31-17 to Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl Saturday.
The loss not only meant a defeat to Mississippi State’s rival, but it also may keep the Bulldogs out of the four-team college football playoff.
In the game, Mississippi State allowed a 91-yard touchdown run by Jaylen Walton, 41-yard run by Jordan Wilkins, and 83-yard pass to Evan Ingram. The Rebels racked up 532 total yards compared to 445 for the Bulldogs.

When asked after the game about all the big plays allowed, Mullen ripped his defensive coaches.
Mullen on big plays: That’s pathetic. That’s a terrible job by our defensive coaching staff.

Mullen also said it sucked to lose that game.
Mullen on how it feels: "It sucks."

This is the best season Mississippi State has had since 1999 and only the third double-digit win season in program history. The loss to Ole Miss was a killer, but the Bulldogs should be awfully proud of what they have done.
