The Colorado Buffaloes have not found a solution at quarterback since Shedeur Sanders departed for the NFL, and three games into the season, the problem is more pressing than ever.
Colorado coach Deion Sanders had a concerning four-word comment when asked how he would handle the team’s quarterback situation Friday following his team’s 36-20 loss to Houston.
“I have no idea. I have no idea right now,” Sanders said. “Right now, I’m not thinking about that. I’m thinking about what transpired and how can we prevent what transpired from happening again.”

Colorado started the season with Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter at quarterback, and he went 17/28 for just 159 yards in a season-opening loss to Georgia Tech. After rotating quarterbacks in a Week 2 win over Delaware, third-stringer Ryan Staub got the nod, and went 19/35 for 204 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Five-star freshman Julian Lewis is the other quarterback option. He has yet to start a game, and only attempted four passes in the win over Delaware.
Sanders has a lot of problems to try and sort out after Colorado’s 1-2 start. The lack of a clear solution at quarterback is a big one that will hold the Buffs back as long as it isn’t solved.
