Derrick Henry wins Heisman Trophy – final voting results
Derrick Henry won the 2015 Heisman Trophy on Saturday night in New York, beating out Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson.
The final voting totals show it was completely a three-way race between them, which explains why only those three were invited to the ceremony in NYC.

Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield finished fourth and Navy’s Keenan Reynolds was fifth. Five of the finalists were quarterbacks and the other five were running backs.

The votes by region show that Henry finished first in all regions except the far West, which is where McCaffrey won. McCaffrey finished second in all regions except the one he won and the mid-Atlantic, where Clemson’s Watson was second.
For some it’s hard to believe that McCaffrey would finish second in voting in a year where he breaks Barry Sanders’ all-purpose yards record, but I think the right player won.
Henry is a beast, a manchild, and he carried Bama’s offense. 1,986 yards and 23 touchdowns against some of the best defenses in the country are incredible numbers. He rushed for over 200 yards against the likes of LSU, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Auburn. He would have been my No. 1 player on the ballot.
