Ex-Notre Dame QBs commiserate over Irish switching QBs
Two former Notre Dame quarterbacks commiserated on Twitter Monday over the Fighting Irish’s strategy to switch quarterbacks during the Citrus Bowl against LSU.
The Irish played both Ian Book and Brandon Wimbush at quarterback. They switched to the sophomore after Wimbush struggled to produce points for most of the first half.
Malik Zaire, who dealt with quarterback rotations while he was at Notre Dame, weighed in on the strategy via Twitter:
They still switching qb?!

DeShone Kizer, who is the one Zaire split some time with, agreed on Twitter.

Though the strategy brought back difficult memories for Zaire, it actually paid off for Notre Dame. The Irish scored all of their points with Book at QB. Had Brian Kelly not made the switch, Notre Dame probably would have lost.
