Clemson quarterback Hunter Johnson announced last week that he is planning to transfer, and the list of schools that are interested in him is beginning to grow.

Chris Hummer of 247Sports.com reports that Clemson has granted Johnson a full release, which means he is free to transfer to another ACC school if he chooses. With that news, Duke has reportedly emerged as a new suitor for the soon-to-be sophomore.

A previous report from ESPN indicated that Johnson is also considering several Big Ten schools, including Northwestern and Purdue. He will have to sit out the 2018 season due to NCAA eligibility rules, but Johnson could use his redshirt season since he did not use it last year with the Tigers.

Johnson was ranked as the No. 2 pro-style passer and No. 30 overall player by 247Sports for the Class of 2017. Rivals rated him as the No. 18 overall player, and ESPN ranked him as the No. 1 pocket passer in his class. In limited action during seven games with Clemson last season, Johnson completed 21-of-27 passes for 234 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
