Ed Orgeron reportedly expected to pursue Lane Kiffin as LSU offensive coordinator

Lane Kiffin

With LSU set to remove the interim tag from Ed Orgeron and name him the school’s full-time head football coach, one report claims Orgeron could be looking to hire his former boss as his offensive coordinator.

According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, Orgeron is expected to pursue hiring Lane Kiffin, who was the head coach at USC when Orgeron was on the Trojans staff. Kiffin and Orgeron are said to be close friends, and Orgeron fired former LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron immediately when he took over for Les Miles.

Alabama moved some numbers around recently to give Kiffin a raise, but his current contract only runs through February. Kiffin hopes to land a head coaching job again in the future, but he would almost certainly consider an offer from Orgeron. Based on some of the Twitter jabs we have seen from him, we know Kiffin never really got over the last head coaching job he was fired from.
