Gary Patterson says he was threatened by Baylor player after game
TCU head coach Gary Patterson said in his postgame news conference after his team lost to Baylor 61-58 on Saturday that a Bears player “kind of threatened” him following the game.
According to Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Carlos Mendez, Patterson said the threat stemmed from Patterson’s rant against Art Briles last year:
Patterson apologized to Briles pre-game for last year’s rant. But he said a Baylor player threatened him after the game over it.

Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett broke things up between his player and Patterson. Patterson declined to share what exactly was said.
Patterson, on what the player said: ‘I’m not going to go into all that. Coach Bennett was the one that broke it up. You can ask him.’

Bennett reportedly said his player “mouthed off” but did not threaten anyone.

What is the rant that inspired all of this? TCU lost to Baylor by a field goal last year, too. Patterson ranted after the game about the way Baylor handled the ejection of safety Ahmad Dixon. Dixon is now in the NFL, so it wasn’t him mouthing off to Patterson; it was someone else.
Is Patterson just a sore loser or do you think he was legitimately “kind of threatened”?
