Sony Michel really couldn’t have had much better of a game in Georgia’s double overtime win over Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl on Monday, but the senior is nowhere near satisfied.
Michel rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries, including the game-sealing score in the second overtime.
Michel was interviewed by ESPN after the game and said the team could celebrate the win, but he made it clear that their work was not done.
“We gotta celebrate, but we gotta get back to work,” Michel said. “Because at the end of the day, we gotta finish. Nobody don’t remember anybody that don’t finish.”
You have to love that attitude if you’re a Georgia fan. Beating Oklahoma in the playoffs was incredible, but it’s only step 1 of a two-step process. Beating the winner of the other semifinal game is even more important now.
