J.T. Barrett arrested for driving while impaired
Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett was arrested early Saturday morning for operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
According to Ohio State website Eleven Warriors, citing two sources within the Columbus Police Department, Barrett was arrested near campus after being spotted attempting to avoid a checkpoint. The 20-year-old was cooperative, according to the website, and a breathalyzer test revealed that his BAC was slightly above Ohio’s legal limit of 0.08.
As he is under 21, Barrett could face a two week suspension under the school’s student-athlete drug and alcohol program, according to the site. According to Eleven Warriors’s Tim Shoemaker, Barrett has already been suspended for the team’s next game.

Barrett reclaimed the Buckeyes starting quarterback job last week after Cardale Jones underwhelmed for most of the season, but this puts that status in question. Barrett has already been suspended a game by Ohio State.
