Da’Ron Payne was one of the best stories of the Sugar Bowl on Monday night.
The defensive lineman used his superb hands to grab an interception in the third quarter. A few plays later, he caught a touchdown to put Bama up 17-6.
Payne was a star in the game and one of the biggest talking points afterwards. Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts was asked about Payne’s hands and joked that “Calvin (Ridley) better watch out,” which was a reference to the team’s leading receiver.

Payne was named most outstanding defensive player of the game. He was a huge part of Bama’s 24-6 win over Clemson that sent the Tide to the championship game against Georgia and provided one of the biggest turning points.
