Watch: Jeremy Pruitt lit into Shawn Shamburger after bad penalty
Jeremy Pruitt lit into one of his players after a bad penalty in the fourth quarter of Tennessee’s 24-20 win over Missouri on Saturday night.
Junior defensive back Shawn Shamburger delivered a late push out of bounds on Kelly Bryant in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers an automatic first down in what was a close game at 24-17. The penalty gave Missouri the ball near midfield, and the Tigers ended up with a field goal on the possession.
Pruit grabbed Shamburger by the chest pads on the sidelines and chewed out the junior:

Shamburger nodded afterwards, seemingly showing that he got the message.
Pruitt received some attention earlier this season for grabbing quarterback Jarrett Guarantano by the facemask after a turnover against Alabama.

Some will object to this kind of coaching; Pruitt definitely has an intense style that borders on crossing a line.
After an embarrassing start that included a loss in their opener to Georgia State, Tennessee has won five of its last six and is now 6-5.
