Jim Harbaugh may be leaving Michigan, but he is still emotionally invested in making sure the school picks the right replacement for him.

The new Los Angeles Chargers coach offered a very strong endorsement for his offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore to replace him. Harbaugh said Moore possesses all the necessary qualities to be a success in Ann Arbor.

“I’ll always be a loyal Wolverine,” Harbaugh told Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit News. “But not a better man to coach the team than Sherrone Moore. He has my vote, my support wholeheartedly. I feel like it’s in great hands.”

Moore has been a member of Harbaugh’s staff since 2018 and was promoted to co-offensive coordinator in 2021. He coached the team while Harbaugh was suspended this past season and guided them to wins over Penn State and Ohio State.

By most accounts, the Wolverines appear highly likely to take Harbaugh’s advice. Moore having Harbaugh’s endorsement is no guarantee of success, but it certainly starts him off on the right foot.
