Miranda Wilhelm, the girlfriend of Florida State running back Karlos Williams, posted photos on Facebook of the injuries she sustained as a result of an assault by Williams, she alleges.
Wilhelm claimed in her Facebook post on Friday that she was assaulted by Williams two days earlier. She says she and Williams have been together two years and have two children together. She also says she is currently pregnant.
As Wilhelm writes, she was initially ashamed to come forward but she finally has.
The alleged crimes were received by the Tallahassee Police Department on Saturday.
Florida State says Williams’ status is under review since he has been named as a suspect in the alleged domestic battery.
“The Athletics Department is aware of an investigation by the Tallahassee Police Department involving football student-athlete Karlos Williams. Until we receive more information regarding the alleged incident his status with the team will be under review,” the school told the Tallahassee Democrat in a statement.
Williams, a senior, leads the Seminoles with 378 yards and 7 touchdowns on 82 carries.
