Mississippi State coach sends care package to James Franklin
Joe Moorhead and James Franklin still seem to be on pretty good terms despite the former leaving Penn State’s program.
Moorhead is now the head coach at Mississippi State after spending the past two seasons as Penn State’s offensive coordinator under Franklin. Before the season began, Moorhead tweeted a photo on Aug. 3 of a care package he says he received from Franklin and the Nittany Lions program.
Received a preseason care package from @coachjfranklin & @PennStateFball this morning! Appreciate the kind gesture! Here’s to a safe & productive fall camp for both of our teams!#HailState#WeAre pic.twitter.com/lLhEQPCrPt

Moorhead decided to return the favor, sending a care package of his own to Franklin this week. Moorhead’s care package contained products advertising “moxie” and providing energy. The message was clear: use these to help maintain your high-energy style.

Mississippi State is off to a 2-0 start this season and has a strong chance of beginning 3-0. But things will start to get tough once they open up SEC play in their fourth game. They also have road games at LSU and Alabama, which won’t be easy for the first-year head coach. Penn State is similarly 2-0, as they bounced back from a close win over Appalachian State to demolish Pitt. They have a favorable schedule this year, with most of their seemingly toughest games coming at home, and their biggest road challenge coming at Michigan on Nov. 3.
