Nick Saban’s exhausted exit from Alabama-USF game goes viral

Alabama won their matchup against South Florida on Saturday. But the 17-3 victory hardly inspired confidence in the powerhouse program.

Nick Saban’s squad found themselves in a close contest for most of the game against an inferior USF side. The Crimson Tide scored just three points in the first half, made a quarterback change, and were tied with the Bulls 3-3 at halftime.

Alabama managed to break away in the second half with two late touchdowns. However, the potential upset probably didn’t have Saban in the best of spirits.

True enough, the Alabama head coach went viral after Saturday’s game for looking completely disheveled during his walk out of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

The field conditions may have also played a role in Saban’s look of exhaustion. With USF up 3-0 early in the second quarter, a lightning delay disrupted play and lasted about an hour. The lightning storm came with heavy rain. The delay also prolonged Alabama’s stunning early deficit against South Florida for 55 real-time minutes.

Alabama was coming off a brutal 34-24 loss to Texas the previous week, which prompted Saban to make a major change going into the USF contest. The change did result in a Crimson Tide win, but did little to dispel its fan base’s worries.
