Notre Dame undefeated? Irish favored for rest of their games

Notre Dame has looked like one of the best teams in the country this season, and there seems to be a chance they could end up undefeated. In fact, as of Sunday, the Fighting Irish would be favored in every remaining game on their schedule.

Pregame’s RJ Bell says the Irish would be favored by no fewer than 4.5 points in any of their remaining games.

Notre Dame PERFECT SEASON?
Projected Spreads (via @BradPowers7)
FAVORED BY:
-4.5 at Virginia Tech
-23.5 hosting Pitt
-21 vs Navy
-11 at Northwestern
-16 hosting Florida St
-11 vs Syracuse
-4.5 at USC

Notre Dame is 5-0 and looked good in their 24-17 win over Michigan in the opener. Then after two close wins over Ball State and Vanderbilt, the Irish made a quarterback change to Ian Book and have taken their offense to another level. They blasted Wake Forest, getting a coach fired in the process, and they looked to be on a different level from Stanford in their 38-17 win.

Despite being favored in their remaining games, nothing is guaranteed for Notre Dame. Their next game at Virginia Tech will not be easy. They should be able to handle Pitt and Navy at home, but they could easily slip up in one of their final four games. They have to visit Northwestern in November, and we saw how tough the Wildcats were on Michigan on Saturday. Then they get Florida State and Syracuse at home before ending the season at USC. FSU got a nice win over the weekend and could be improved by the time the teams meet, while Syracuse gave Clemson a run for their money and could be dangerous.

If the Irish navigate all those remaining challenges, they would end the season against rival USC. The Trojans appear to have one of their weaker teams, but they could be clicking once freshman JT Daniels gains more experience.

The situation is one to watch because Notre Dame could end up being a factor in the College Football Playoff conversation.
