Ole Miss made a costly blunder at the end of the first half of their College Football Playoff quarterfinal game against the Georgia Bulldogs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., on Thursday night.
Ole Miss had a 3rd-and-10 at the Georgia 43-yard line trailing 21-12 with 15 seconds left before halftime. They were trying to set themselves up for a field goal, but they made a big mistake. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw a quick pass to Dae’Quan Wright, who inexplicably ran towards the hashmarks rather than out of bounds.
Wright was tackled at the 35-yard line after a gain of 8 yards.

Time expired after that, leaving Ole Miss without a chance to attempt a field goal. Keep in mind that kicker Lucas Carneiro had been 2/2 in the game and had made a kick from 56 yards away too. That makes Wright’s decision even more frustrating.
Wright had also dropped a pass on another third down, making it a really rough first half for him.
