Texas A&M linebacker defends Jimbo Fisher facemask grab

Texas A&M’s Tyrel Dodson was the subject of a rather violent facemask grab by coach Jimbo Fisher during Saturday’s game, but the Aggie linebacker said after the game that he deserved it.
Fisher’s conduct was noted and criticized during the game, but Dodson said on Twitter that Fisher did the right thing by reacting the way he did.
I’m in. Coach fisher is an amazing coach, he did the right thing. I let my emotions get the best of me at that certain moment. My teammates and this University needs me. That’s why he was so upset! He’ll have my back no matter what.

This likely won’t do much to quiet criticism of Fisher’s actions, as he certainly looked more aggressive than he needed to be. It doesn’t necessarily matter that the player is fine with it.
