Virginia Tech’s upset loss to Old Dominion on Saturday was one of the biggest shockers of the day.
Not only did the Hokies enter the game 2-0 and ranked No. 13 in the country, but ODU was 0-3. And it’s not like the Monarchs had lost three heartbreakers to powerhouse programs; they lost to Charlotte, FIU, and Liberty smashed them 52-10. Yet they put it all together at home against the Hokies with a 49-35 win, scoring touchdowns on four straight drives to end the game.
Quarterback Blake LaRussa passed for 495 yards and four touchdowns in the win, whereas Josh Jackson suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter for Virginia Tech.

Here are some of the Twitter reactions to the upset.

The 2nd best team in the ACC just lost to a 0-3 Conference USA team that lost to Liberty by 42 points and that's never beat a Power 5 opponent.
Congrats Clemson.
