UCLA recruit Soso Jamabo arrested for evading arrest on prom night
UCLA football recruit Soso Jamabo was arrested and charged early Sunday morning with evading police in a vehicle in Kemp, Texas, and has been released after posting bond.
Jamabo, 19, is a five-star running back from Plano West High School who signed with the Bruins in February. Police say Jamabo, who was driving with a 19-year-old man, 18-year-old woman and a minor, was speeding and swerving on the road. The passengers threw stuff out of the car according to police. Police say Jamabo was speeding and ran through a stop sign after being asked to pull over.
The Dallas Morning News says the youngster was held on a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle and “given written warnings for minor consumption of alcohol, minor in possession of alcohol, speeding, driving without a license and disregarding a stop sign.”
A bottle of alcohol was found in the car, but Jamabo was not breathalyzed.
This is a nice way for Jamabo to keep the UCLA coaches informed regarding his whereabouts. I’m actually surprised they didn’t arrange for him to have a limo for his prom night. They might have to consider it to avoid this sort of embarrassment in the future.
