Florida Atlantic football head coach Tom Herman on Friday was not happy with his USF counterpart Alex Golesh after their two teams squared off at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla.
Golesh’s USF squad pummeled Herman’s Florida Atlantic team in a lopsided 44-21 contest. After Florida Atlantic extended their lead to 21-14 early in the third quarter, USF scored the game’s final 30 points to run away with a resounding win in enemy territory.
Once the game ended, Golesh and Herman approached each other to exchange handshakes. But Golesh seemed to breeze by Herman without saying a word, which didn’t sit well with Herman. Herman, likely still heated after his team’s collapse, followed Golesh and tried to call him back. Golesh did his best to ignore the Florida Atlantic coach as the latter taunted him from behind.

Here’s another angle of the incident showing Golesh brushing past Herman, who had his hand extended for a proper handshake.

Herman has not had much success ever since his departure as the head coach of Texas following the 2020 season. Friday’s loss dropped the Owls to 2-6 for the season. Herman has a 6-14 record since moving to Boca Raton in 2023.
Herman’s Florida Atlantic team just could not stop USF’s run game. South Florida rushed for 319 yards on 43 carries and had four different players score a rushing touchdown.
