Watch: Virginia Tech fumbles into game-tying touchdown
The Virginia Tech Hokies got a stroke of good fortunate late in their rivalry game against Virginia.
Hokie running back Steven Peoples broke off a promising 18-yard run from the Virginia 19 with Virginia Tech down 31-24 with under two minutes left. Peoples looked like he was going down short of the goal line, setting up a potentially decisive stand. Peoples, however, fumbled the ball, only to see it recovered by teammate Hezekiah Grimsley in the end zone for a game-tying touchdown.

The play capped off a wild fourth quarter that saw the Hokies blow a ten-point lead, with the two teams combining for 31 total points in the quarter.
Virginia safety Brenton Nelson was very close to scooping up the fumble, which could have ended the game. Instead, the two teams ended up going to overtime, where Virginia Tech pulled out the win.
