Caitlyn Jenner has reportedly been having a difficult time with her transition to a woman and has considered transitioning back into a man.
Ian Halperin, who wrote a book about the Kardashian family called “Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family,” told The Wrap on Wednesday that he was told by multiple sources Jenner has been “miserable” and contemplating transitioning back to a man.
“One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of ‘sex change regret,’ hinting she might go back to being Bruce Jenner,” Halperin said.
A long-time friend of Jenner told Halperin that Caitlyn was happy to help tackle some of the issues that transgender people have been facing but that she could ultimately decide to de-transition.
“It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn, it’s been very hard,” the friend reportedly explained. “She’s thrilled she has raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against but I think there’s a chance she’ll de-transition in the next couple years. I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated. My heart goes out to her and I know her true friends will be there to support her on whatever path she chooses.”
Halperin says multiple people close to Jenner told him one of the reasons the transition has been challenging is that Caitlyn is still interested in women. Based on all the information he gathered, Halperin predicts that Jenner will eventually transition back to a man.
Jenner was presented with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs last summer, and the decision to give it to her was met with a great deal of scrutiny.
